VAT Frauds Rip 1.2 Billion Off the State Standartnews - 2005/10/19
Every year, Bulgaria's state treasury suffers losses worth of 1.2 billion levs (1 lev = 1.95 euro) due to VAT scams. The sum exceeds the yearly budget of the Bulgarian army and the overall allotments on healthcare in 2005 (1.7 billion levs). The budgets is losing mostly from corruption and VAT frauds, shows the report of the Center for the Study of Democracy.
