Journalists from electronic and printed media of Bulgaria received Thursday the annual awards of Coalition 2000 for their journalistic researches against corruption.
US Ambassador to Sofia James Pardew gave out statuettes to the winners among 20 journalists from 15 Bulgarian media.
The contest has been held for a third successive year and the submitted materials were assessed by a professional jury presided over Assistant Professor Georgi Lozanov, a member of the country's media watchdog Council for Electronic Media.
Corruption in Bulgaria has been consistently in the focus of international observers and human rights bodies amid a wide public debate on the problem and anti-corruption measures.
