THE NUMBER of corrupt deals brokered in March this year amounted to 4,000, Coalition 2000 announced. Vitosha Research polls show that 56% of the Bulgarian businessmen assess corruption as a major problem, said Alexander Stoyanov, the agency's president.
The polls indicate that ministers and members of parliament grow increasingly corrupt as compared to the beginning of the year. The business community had pointed out that the most corrupt behaviour is exhibited by the Bulgarian customs, the court, the police, the healthcare establishments and the senior government officials. Because of the total epidemic incidence, 95% of Bulgarian businessmen think that complaining about corrupt pressure and seeking the assistance of the state against corruption is meaningless.
